Fucoidan Capsules from TaKaRa Bio
Kelp Extract
(Product of Japan)
Fucoidan capsules from TaKaRa Bio are made from an extract of kelp, a brown seaweed that contains the polysaccharide fucoidan.
What is Fucoidan?
Fucoidan is a sulfated polysaccharide and viscous component found in the cell walls of many species of brown seaweed, including kombu (kelp).

Edible Kombu (kelp)
This polysaccharide called "fucoidan" is especially contained in Gagome kombu, which is found only along the areas of Hakodate to Muroran City of Hokkaido in Japan. The name of “Gagome” is derived from the concave and convex Ryumon patterns on the surface of its thallus, which is likened to the stitch of woven basket. TaKaRa Bio Inc., a globally renowned Japanese biotechnology company, has spent many years researching Gagome kombu, and successfully identified three different types of chemical structures of fucoidan in Gagome kombu for the first time.

Chemical structures of fucoidan in Gagome kombu
Fucoidan has been researched extensively for its bioactive benefits for decades. Many studies worldwide have found fucoidan derived from Gagome kombu may have the abilities to assist quality of life.
Information about most of the research studies on fucoidan can be found at Pubmed, a free search engine accessing references and abstracts on life sciences and biomedical topics.https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/
